A Space Poddity 15 : David Bowie (1967)

In this episode, your three loveable lads of lively conversation take you inside the Deram world of David Bowie's first self titled album, David Bowie, released in 1967.  We take you lovely birds and cool cats into the swinging 60's where Bowie was finding his artistry by conversing with Laughing Gnomes, playing in Rubber Bands, begging to Gravediggers, borrowing comics from Uncle Arthur, and urging someone to buy his toys. Does Bowie ultimately succeed in becoming the next groovy sound from London or does he have to go back to the drawing board to figure this whole rock 'n roll thing out?

A Space Poddity 14.5 : Low (Side 2)

Last week, your Bowie Boys were joined by electronic music expert and Video Game Wizard Joe Vierra to discuss the seminal 1977 David Bowie masterpiece Low.  The conversation was so robust that we had to split it into 2 episodes.  So enjoy this, Low (Side 2) where we hear what Bowie, Eno and Tony Visconti were up to behind the scenes, Marc disappears on an underground mission, the team discusses the strange ambient side 2, the lasting impact of this album,  as well as outtakes and remixes from this era.  We hope you enjoy this as much as we did.

In this episode of our ongoing adventure in dissecting randomized Bowie albums, the Diamond Dice (TM) has chosen Pinups for us.  Your Bowie Boys, (Steve, Marc and Eric) are tasked with analyzing this strange, transitional album from 1973.  David Bowie wanted to pay tribute to the mod, British invasion bands of his early years (as well as wanting to satisfy his record contract), and we at Pod Like a Hole in turn pay tribute to that tribute.

The Pod Like A Hole Holiday Spectacular 2019

B-Side: Stargazer: A Tribute to Bowie (The Interview)

In this short, sweet and very special bonus episode, Eric interviews local Sacramento musician Buji of the band "Tipsy Orchestrina".  Buji is curating a local tribute concert to David Bowie, namely "Stargazer".  This show will be at Harlow's on Friday, 1/10/2019 from 6-9pm, all ages.  

In this interview Eric and Buji discuss his history in the Sacramento music scene, his love for Bowie, and the immense research that he has put into this "Stargazer"  project.  In additional, he'll paint a spoiler-free picture of what to expect at the upcoming show.
